The life of an editorial intern

Hello,

This is my first post, so I'm going to give the run-down of what I've been doing in September. My first day, Mike Pollock, the managing editor of Out and About, showed me the different parts of the magazine and got me set-up with my computer. I have my own intern desk and even my own password, which is geekily exciting. I'm not sure how casual these blogs have to be, so if they need to be more formal just let me know. Anyway, the first day was really an orientation. I learned how the magazine was broken down into different sections, and I saw some articles, advances and other small writing bits that other interns had done before me. I was also told that eventually I can write a few articles myself, which is much more exciting than my own password. I'm going to post a few times today, in an effort to catch up. This basically sums up my first few days at my internship.

Kathleen
